Respite Care
No,I don't think we have that option at such a late notice.
We are going to the beach this weekend. My mom said she'd keep baby N rather than bringing him out in the sun. I don't think anyone other than foster parents can keep him overnight? Anyway, L put in a call to CW to find out if this would be ok, but her last day is tomorrow, so will her opinion even matter since she won't even be working there anymore if we run into issues this weekend?
I don't know if I could go 2 days without my baby N. SY is coming to, so it's not like it's a romantic getaway. Due to lack of planning, we will probably staying at L's aunts house, approximately 1 hour from Gulf Shores.
Assuming his cw gives us the choice, what should we do?
Bring Baby N?
Leave him at Nanna's house?

Well- if SY is coming, I would go ahead and bring the baby. But- it sounds like you may need a break, which is OK.
We loves gulf shores, but haven't been back since those hurricanes. Lots of the places we used to rent are now gone forever, or so damaged that they haven't been repaired yet.
Is the Floribama still gone?

If you bring him, be prepared to be indoors or just out of the sun a lot. It will be extremely fun for him though. The first time he gets to see the ocean and sit in the water, that's a face you never forget. Don't forget the little swimmers diapers though!

Our offices make us get a signed travel permission from the SW - and a medical letter in case medical care is needed when we are out of town - but it takes them just a couple minutes to print one out for us and stamp it. We usually swing by the office on our way out of town (after we get permission via phone with the SW).

Oh it would be fun to see his face when the ocean water hits his feet. I would probably take him if that works out.

Baby N's worker said to go ahead and take him. Her last day is today and really doesn't care. Still waiting on a call to see if we can leave him with my mom if we decide to.

Don't know about LA, but in Oklahoma, we had to have anyone who might watch the kids kind of, I guess, "registered" with DHS...DHS has their info, and they do a background check. These are the ONLY people we're allowed to leave the kids with, and overnights are okay. And of course, nobody, even us is allowed to take the kids out of the state without prior permission from DHS.

Oh, and another funny thing...our CW quit too...her last day was the 31st. It will be interesting to see who we get for a new worker.
