I'm not sure. She sounded like she may have been crying when she told me. I asked if she was ready and got a weak yes from her. I told her to let us know if she needed help/moral support.
Oh God. My heart just sank. Sank. It's not fair. It isn't just. It isn't even understandable. But I'm glad you called, and I bet it made a HUGE difference in her soul. You have my admiration and respect for calling her, and for reaching out. I will be praying for ALL of you.
It just makes my heart heavy to know what risk that baby will be born into. Even if she is working and is trying to stay clean right now, there is whole pregnancy to get through. I have to say that I am very thankful she reached out to someone. You are probably the only person she can really relate to and feels a kindred spirit with you.
I wish this was a happy, definite, happily ever path for her, but for many reasons it just doesn't seem to be so. I pray that there is a happy baby in a loving home at the end of the journey.
I spent the last couple hours reading your entire blog, you are so strong, even when you feel weak. The foster care system in my state isn't much better and my heart bleeds for these kids in the system. I think people like you and your hubby really exemplify how true christians should act. My hubby and I have discussed this before and we've decided if we want another child (I'm pregnant with our first) we may go this route. I'd be honored with an invite to the palace, email mrslilypond@yahoo.com, if you so choose.

Mmm hmm...that makes sense. So, does she want congratulations, or is she asking you to adopt the baby?

Who knows...maybe you'll wind up being a major part of this baby's life. God knows what HE'S doing. Be still...
