So Much to Do, So Little Time
We have a lot to do before we bring Princess home tomorrow:
1. Buy formula and diapers.
2. Clothes shop.
3. Have caseworker call the hospital and arrange for us to bring Princess home.
4. Have caseworker take care of getting day care set up.
5. Get medicaid card or number.
6. Set up pack n' play in our room.
7. Get infant carseat out of the attic in the shed.
8. Make sure hospital has set us up to order feeding supplies.
9. Get prescriptions
That's just what has to be done BEFORE she comes home. After she comes home we have to:
1. Spend clothing allowance(buy the clothes, turn in receipts and get reimbursed, you didn't think we'd actually get a check from the state that quick?)
2. Meet caseworker to buy carseat, or buy it and send to state for reimbursement.
3. Teach daycare how to feed her and operate feeding pump if she's still on it.
4. Mix formula, set up feeding schedule.
5. Enjoy cuddling our new little Princess!!!

I wish I could, but when you're married, you gotta include hubby on those decisions. I'm working on him. Also, there's a health insurance issue we have to straighten out first.

What's the point of having her come home just to send her off to daycare? If you can't stay home, maybe your hubby should. After all the time she's been in the hospital, she really needs her mom and dad to love on her. I'm not trying to be rude or offensive, just honest.

I know its easier said than done to tell you to quit and that you could if you would. Will keep praying that you can soon stay home with your babies. We're rooting for ya!

tell "anonymous" to keep his/her comments about daycare to him/herself! A lot of what Cookie has learned and her confidence and social skills have come from the learning and socializing opportunities she has in daycare. It is not evil, and it is not neglectful. In fact, I'd bet every dollar I ever make that the blessing of daycare makes us much better parents when out kids are home because we get the best of things that are important to us. Will be praying for you all tomorrow...what a joyful day. Oh, and of course - let me know if you need clothes - you know I have a ton! Hugs!!!!

Hi Dream Mommy,
I've never commented before but have been reading your blog for some time now. I'm just starting the foster/adopt program in my state. Can't wait to be where you are someday! I just wanted to say how happy I am for you and good luck with everything. So much hard work goes into this and you should be proud of yourself. I hate to sign in as just anonymous but I don't have a web page or blogger account. My name is Tracie. I'm from Las Vegas.

As much as I'd love to quit, first, I'm bound to my job because of health insurance. Once you lapse in coverage if you have any kind of health problems at all, I would never be able to get insured again. Second, hubby is not in agreement yet. We are trying to make it happen. Third, these babies could possibly go home, then I'd have no job and no babies!Fourth, I'm waiting on my CPA license to come in, they I may be able to stay home. I have to wait for some things to fall in line first, but hopefully soon I will be home.
I'd still have to send Smiley to daycare part time. He has caught up so much developmentally being around other kids.

I agree with Tamara regarding daycare- I love the daycare that my Gracie goes to- she is doing great there- and has learned a lot as well. I have just heard your heart to stay home- :) that is all. Insurance is a big deal. I agree. and your CPA is a HUGE deal- so I guess you are stuck for awhile. oh- yes and there is L. :) ha! Keep the faith! I can't believe the day has come!! Today she will be home in your arms!!! Yea!!! pics!!!

As a teacher and director of a daycare I CAN tell you that daycare/preschool can be WONDERFUL for children as long as it is a good match for you and your child. You must place 100% of your trust in your provider and consider them part of your family. Their standards and morals must echo yours.
Cherish the time you can be together and be thankful when you have found another person to love on them! CONGRAT'S
