Birth certificate
After almost 9 months after the adoption, Smiley's birth certificate has finally arrived. Now I can get new SS card and medical card and actually be able to use out last name at the doctor's office! Such simple pleasures for me.
I have almost survived classes I'm taking. Been working from morning til' bedtime nearly everyday, so I'm quite exhausted, but it will be worth it. I'll try to catch up with everyone soon.

The birthday certificate day is a special one. The baby you have loved and worked for while he was wearing someone else's name then suddenly he is only yours and the parents are you and yours and family is really your family.
I hope the classes go well.

Good for you. I know we were thrilled to get that birth certificate. One thing we were misinformed about: When that certificate comes with the new name on it, it does not mean social security has that info. We found that out the hard way when we decided to keep our daughter's ss # and filed our taxes with her new name. SS didn't have her as the new name. That is why you HAVE to go to social security.

OH and good luck with your schooling. I recently completed a Masters Degree that I started working on in the year 2000! Feels so good not to have to do school work, I have replaced schoolwork with blogging!
