Why TPR Needs to Happen Soon!!

This may get me in hot water with OCS, but if I don't write this I'm gonna explode:

SHE WAS TRYING TO WAKE BABY N UP TOO EARLY FROM THE ANESTHESIA!!

They brought baby N back to the room and asked us not to stimulate him, because the longer he sleeps, the less pain he will be in.

That's just one of many reasons, but the others don't affect baby N as directly.

Will he ever get his hearing date?

Poor baby N.

Yikes. It really sounds as if she is not capable of parenting this child. When we went to our termination hearing, the bio mom was there looking daggers at us...but, you know, the judge really wasn't impressed by her admission that "she walked out of rehab because she didn't like it!"

    Jane,

We don't get to attend the TPR hearing, but nurse C will be subpenoed and I will definately get the scoop from her afterwards.

You can ask the cw if she can give you a copy of her transcript. Usually the cw will order the transcripts of the TPR hearings and they will just have the copies lying around until the case is over. Otherwise, you can wait until after you're the legal mom and order the transcripts then (it will be cheaper to get them at a copy rate rather than a original rate). If the court reporter has tapes available, they're even cheaper. There will be plenty of copies from the transcripts around so you might want to see who will get you a copy.

We don't get to go to our TPR hearing either. Technically, we could if we insisted, but they discourage the foster parents from attending, especially in cases such as ours where our personal safety and security could be compromised. No birth family member has ever seen me, and Biomom has only seen my husband and the baby twice back in Feb. We're OK with not being there - but only because Cookie's SW is a feisty, wonderful woman whom I trust.

My ex (got that he's the ex right?) once came into the ER where my tiny three year old was lying in my lap on a gurney with a horrendous case of rotovirus that she caught at his house. My sister in law had been sitting with her for hours as she alternately cried, threw up, and just stared into space. She finally drifted off, and in came the ex and attempted to wake her up. I about went berzerk, and my SIL fetched the nurse who kicked him out for disturbing her. Yeah he's an ass. There are reasons that some people don't need to be parents.
