Thanks for Telling Me!

I took Bubbles to the doctor and I was able to get in with the doctor who was seeing her before she came into care(I'd only seen her partners). She said Bubbles has Reactive Airway Disease, which is treated the same as Asthma. Sometimes they grow out of this, but if they don't, they are usually diagnosed with Asthma around age 3(they don't diagnose asthma before age 3).

Her mom apparantly neglected to mention this to social services or us. Don't you think that's kinda important? I guess she didn't want something they could use against her, but don't you care about the health needs of your child?

I'm gonna stop now, before I say too much, but there's no excuse for this!

Ditto Amanda's thoughts - but HOLY COW! One bad attack can really harm a baby - that is a doozy to leave out - even if she didn't know, had she gotten the baby some medical care, they would have caught it. I'm so glad to know she'll now get the best of care. This will complicate mom getting her back - knowing she will have to be cautious and get her medical care for this - yikes!

She knew, because her doctor said she knew of her condition and what things can trigger attacks!

In most cases I dealt with ... the parents had no clue about the word... CO-OPERATION! They think,,, get back and never think of the kids.

It is so sad the way that some people take their children for granted. At least one thing IF has taught me is that children really are a blessing and a gift.

You mean you want to be fully informed of the child's health situation so you can care for her to the very best of your ability? What a responsible parent of you...too bad her bio mom doesn't think that way.

Oh wow! But are you surprised that her mom didn't mention it?

Anything else on her medical history that ya'll should know about ? Good thing that you were able to see Bubbles' regular doctor, otherwise you still may no know!
